MUMBAI: Taapsee Pannu's highly anticipated sports drama Rashmi Rocket is all set to premiere on 15th October on ZEE5. It is produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Neha Anand, and Pranjal Khandhdiya under the banner of RSVP and Mango People Media.
The film is set in the salt marshes of Kutch. Rashmi is a strong-willed young girl who manifests her dream to reach the finish line with her extraordinary running skills. She realises that this journey will not be an easy one and theat there would be many hurdles before she reaches the goal. Her battle turns from her initial goals to war for her honour, respect, and identity.
Talking about the film, ZEE5 India's Chief Business Officer Manish Kalra shares, "At ZEE5, we have constantly strived to bring audiences richer experiences with versatile content that is not just entertaining but also a reflection of us as a collective society. Rashmi Rocket is riveting, relevant, and will have you cheering, empathising, and questioning. It's cinema that moves you."
Rashmi Rocket is written by Nanda Periyasamy, Aniruddha Guha, and Kanika Dhillon and directed by Akarsh Khurana. Apart from Taapsee Pannu in the lead, the film also features Supriya Pathak, Abhishek Banerjee, Priyanshu Paniyuli, and Supriya Pilgaonkar in pivotal roles.
Well, Ronnie Screwvala shares an interesting insight about the film. He says, "So many immensely talented youth do not reach their full potential or even have the opportunities owing to the obstacles thrown at them by the society and system. Rashmi Rocket is one such example of someone who has faced those obstacles head-on and overcome them. It's a story of resilience, determination, and above all the fighting human spirit."
