MUMBAI: Prime Video is poised to unleash what may well become this year’s unmissable television obsession: The Traitors will arrive on Indian screens on Thursday, 12 June 2025, with fresh instalments dropping every Thursday at 8 p.m.
Expect a weekly jolt of duplicity, strategy and nail-biting suspense as the internationally celebrated reality format receives a distinctly desi makeover.
Guiding viewers through the psychological labyrinth is none other than the ever-witty, sharp-tongued Karan Johar.

While introducing the series, the filmmaker couldn’t resist a sly swipe at Bigg Boss. “Other captive shows thrive on shouting matches,” he quipped, “but here the tension is cerebral. You won’t even see your next move coming. It’s part thriller, part murder mystery – a complete fusion of genres.”
The game’s structure is devilishly simple yet fiendishly effective: twenty contestants hole up in a lavish country estate. Three are secretly appointed as ‘traitors’; the remaining seventeen must sniff them out before they’re picked off.
In a world where everyone smiles and shakes hands, treachery lurks behind every corner – hence the show’s wry slogan: “Trust is universal, betrayal is everywhere.”
Johar’s presence promises more than just hosting duties; fans are keen to discover whether his trademark candour will sway allegiances or ruffle feathers.
With that irresistible blend of glamour, intrigue and social strategy, The Traitors looks set to keep audiences guessing – and second-guessing – right up to the final reveal.
