MUMBAI: Movie Tiku Weds Sheru, which has Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur in the leading role has been grabbing the attention of the fans ever since the movie was in making. The movie, which is produced by Kangana Ranaut is directed by Sai Kabir.
The trailer of the movie has grabbed a lot the attention since a few days. Today, the movie finally hit the digital platform Amazon Prime Video.
Talking about the premise, it begins with the central character Sheraaz (Sheru) played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is junior artist and has taken up some odd jobs too. Due to some situation, he is getting married to Tasleem (Tiku). Well, on the other hand, Tasleem, which is played by Avneet Kaur, also has a situation in her life, where she has an agenda behind getting married. Later, when the couple comes to Mumbai, the sort of difficulties and challenges they go through to survive in this marriage and fulfill their respective dreams is something shown in the movie.
Talking about the screenplay, it is really bad. It is very complex and there are many moments in the film which may bore you. On the other hand, the direction given by Sai Kabir is strictly average.
Talking about the performances, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has played much better roles before. Since he's one of the best actors Bollywood has, there were certain expectations from him, which disappointed us in the end. On the other hand, debutant Avneet Kaur looks quite promising. She is looking very confident, but she definitely has to work on her expressions. The supporting casts, which comprises of Rahoul, Zakir Hussain, Vipin Sharma and Mukesh S Bhatt were strictly average on their part.
The positive point has to be the set-up, which was done beautifully. But again, it was the execution which was very poor. No doubt, it was a treat to watch this odd pair of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur. The highlight of the movie has to be actress Avneet Kaur, who is looking very beautiful and promising at the same time. We can expect some great performances from the actress in future.
Talking about the negatives, it has to be the weak story-telling in spite of having a beautiful set-up and outline. The execution lacks at every level. The screenplay of the movie is complex and there are many moments which will definitely bore you. Also, there a few unwanted scenes, which makes you question its purpose. Nawazuddin Siddiqui's talent is quite wasted here. There are unnecessary use of abusing languages in the movie makes the movie even more dull. The songs are not at all situational and look forceful as well.
Having said all that, movie Tiku Weds Sheru is the perfect example of a good set-up, which is spoiled by bad storywriting and complex screenplay. You can give it a chance, only if you are die hard fan of Nawazuddin Siddiqui or Avneet Kaur.
