MUMBAI: Before Maranamass turned into the blockbuster dark comedy full of twists and humour, it began with just a simple conversation built on trust. Director Sivaprasad, who had worked with Tovino Thomas before, shared how the actor came on board as the film’s producer.
Director Sivaprasad said, “It wasn’t a formal meeting or pitch. We were just talking casually, and I told him about the idea for Maranamass. I spoke about the world I wanted to create, a strange but interesting mix of suspense, satire, and comedy. Tovino listened carefully and simply said, ‘Let’s do it. I’ll support this.’ That one line meant a lot to me.”
Hae further added, “Tovino knows how I think and how our team works. He’s someone who believes in different kinds of stories. Because of our past work and understanding, I think it was easier for him to trust the process and eventually come on board not just as a friend, but as a producer who trusts the film.”
