MUMBAI:Movie U Turn has been the talk of the town ever since it was in the making. The trailer grabbed attention of the fans and promised thrills and chills. The movie has some amazing star cast like Alaya F, Priyanshu Painyuli, Aashim Gulati, Manu Rishi and Rajesh Sharma and is directed by Arif Khan.
Today, finally the movie has hit the digital platform Zee5, and here's a complete review of the movie. The movie deals with a series of murders happening in the town. How Radhika, a journalist is connected to these murders and what connection these murder have within themselves at a U Turn in a highway is shown in the movie.
The screenplay is very decent. It serves you thrills, but in pieces. The writing of the movie is poor. On the other hand, direction by Arif Khan is strictly decent and very much average.
If we talk about the performances in the movie, it is the leading lady Alaya F stealing the show with her performance. She definitely looks very promising and has potential, but again, she has been underused in the movie. Priyanshu Painyuli looks completely different as a cop and has delivered yet another powerful performance. Aashim Gulati, on the other hand was decent, but Manu Rishi will surprise you for sure. Rajesh Sharma was decent and had less to offer.
Talking about the positive points of the movie, it has to be the performance of the actors in the movie. Alaya F is the hero and sadly, the only saving factor. There are a few jumpscare moments in the movie which excite you. There are a few twists and turns which will surprise you, especially if you have not seen the original movie. Also, the BGM is good and surely enhances your movie viewing experience.
Talking about the negative points of the movie, it has to be the writing and the screenplay, which are strictly decent and average. The writing is very poor and make the scenes look a little dull. But again, the strong performances come to rescue and does not let the scene fall. The major drawback of the movie is the characterization of the actress Alaya F and a few factors which look unreal. Also, the minus point are the dialogues which are very poorly written and should have been better.
Well having said all that, U Turn is strictly average and you may like it only if you are a thriller fan.
Team Tellychakkar goes with 2.5/5 for U Turn.
