In 1996, Yadav filed for divorce in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. However, the petition was later transferred to Delhi, where Poornima was residing.
Despite the initial steps, Yadav withdrew his petition years later, causing the legal proceedings to linger for three long decades.
As the curtain falls on a prolonged legal battle, Raghubir Yadav and Poornima Kharga have officially turned the page on a long and challenging chapter.
The prolonged delay in the verdict was attributed to the case being transferred to different courts. However both Raghubir and Poornima decided to amicably settle their disputes and upon compliance of terms and conditions, divorce was granted to them on 20th May 2025 by Bandra Family Court.
While their personal journey has been tumultuous, Yadav continues to shine on screen, proving that resilience is key both in life and in the world of entertainment.
Raghubir Yadav remains one of the most respected and seasoned actors in the Indian entertainment industry.
With an impressive portfolio that includes eight films officially submitted as India's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Oscars, Yadav's contribution to cinema is monumental.
He is fondly remembered for his iconic role in the cult classic television series Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne, directed by Prakash Jha.
Even after decades in the industry, Yadav continues to stay relevant with significant roles in critically acclaimed projects such as The Railway Men, The Great Indian Murder, and the hit series Panchayat.
Adv. Ishika Tolani and Adv. Gaurav Khetwani appeared for Poornima who state that it was time for both parties to end their tedious litigation especially when both are now senior citizens. We respect the privacy and dignity of all involved but we are glad both parties acted wisely and settled their disputes, in short it was a win-win situation for both.
