MUMBAI : Sam Bahadur was last year's one of the most anticipated biopics. The movie was directed by Meghna Gulzar and starred Vicky Kaushal as former Indian Army commander Sam Manekshaw.
The film, which was filmed over the course of the previous two years in a number of actual locations, had garnered positive reviews for its depiction of the lives of notable officers. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra both had important roles in the film.
The audience were eager for the movie to release right from the time of its announcement and so when the poster, teaser and the trailer released, it only added more to the excitement.

The audience was waiting to watch Vicky Kaushal in the role as the trailer really looked promising. However, this wasn't the movie at the time that was so highly anticipated.
Vicky Kaushal starring Sam Bahadur and Ranbir Kapoor starring Animal released on the same day, leaving the audience in a dilemma. The audience decision was clear later and we saw a Animal reaching heights at the Box Office collection.
However, other than money-making business, the audience was seen to be welcoming both the movies when it came to performance of both the actors.
The battle is not over. After the theatre release of both these movies, now it's time for their OTT releases and even this time, it's the same date of release, that is 26th Jan.

On the other hand, Animal will be released on Netflix.
It'll be interesting to see that after the theatre release, which movie makes it big in the OTT platforms.
