MUMBAI: The wedding season is here! But with the season, comes a lot of work. Outfit scouting, shopping, buying matching accessories, footwear and more. One thing that often takes is makeup. Your glam game is as important as your outfit and accessories, to ensure you slay it like a diva at the wedding. We’re sure you know it already! Because hello, dressing up in those ornate ensembles and decking yourself with sparkling accessories will all go in vain without a bit of makeup.
Fret not, if you don’t want to book a professional makeup artist for the impending wedding. With some basic makeup essentials, you can do your own makeup and absolutely nail that wedding guest look. Makeup artist Chandni Singh explains step-by-step how one can do their own makeup.

STEP 1: SKIN PREP
First things first, wash your face and pat dry. Now, begin with the glam game with skin prep. To do so, hydrate your skin. Apply a moisturiser. You can also apply a few drops of face oil for that extra glow.
STEP 2: CONCEALER
Now, take a concealer one shade darker than your skin tone. Apply it over your dark circles and pigmented areas. You can use a brush or a beauty blender to apply it.
STEP 3: FOUNDATION
Now, apply your foundation on top with soft dabbing movements. If you don’t want to use a foundation, you can also use a BB cream.
STEP 4: SET IT UP!
The next step is to set all of the applied products with a powder.
STEP 5: BLUSH BLUSH BLUSH!
Now that the base is ready, it is time to take the glam up by a notch. Apply some blush with some shimmer. Use a matte-finish blush if you have textured skin, suggests Chandni Singh. For that extra sparkle, you can also apply a beaming highlighter.
STEP 6: MASCARA
So, here’s a foolproof trick. Since you are doing your own makeup, it is better to keep things fuss-free yet effective. Ditch the heavy eye makeup (think of shimmering eyelids, cut crease makeup and all), and simply go all-out with the mascara.
Curl up your lashes and apply two generous coats of mascara. Add a sleek line of eyeliner or kohl, as you like it. Makeup artist and beauty educator Chandni Singh even shares that no eye makeup but heavy mascara is the newest trend on the block.
STEP 7: ADD A POP OF COLOUR
Now, add some colour to your lips. You can rock a bold red shade or plum pink, or whatever that complements your outfit.
