We have seen many actors wearing this piece of jewellery not only on Indian but western wear too. From small sophisticated ones to chunky ones, there have been a lot of different designs.
Talking about nose rings, septum piercings aren't just for those with gothic leanings. These days, they're pretty much everywhere you go. This isn't a completely new trend that just sprouted out of nowhere. The history of the piercing goes back to ancient times — but it's safe to say it's having quite the moment!
What are septum piercings?
The septum or nasal septum is the cartilaginous wall that divides the two nostrils. The cartilage is, however, usually not pierced. It is the thin strip of very soft and flexible skin, just between the cartilage and the bottom of the nose, where septum piercing is mostly done. The septum piercing was used to signify their success and show their rite of passage into manhood. Later on, it was connected to rebel subcultures such as the punk rock movement, is seen as a sign of rebellion. But now virtually everybody is following the piercing trend.
