When it comes to getting under the skin of the characters, actors have been known to go the extra mile to get it right. Several actors have undergone physical transformations to become the people they play on screen. Quite a few actors are ready to sport different hair-dos too. Let’s take a look at 5 actors who voluntarily underwent drastic hair transformations to sport edgy looks for their roles.
Ranveer Singh: The reigning king of crazy, Ranveer Singh went bald for his role of Peshwa Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama, Bajirao Mastani. Not only did Ranveer sport the authentic Brahmin choti with a shaved head on screen but was also seen rocking the look at several public events.
Amyra Dastur: For her soon-to-release film, Rajma Chawal, directed by Leena Yadav, Amyra shaved the side of her head without batting an eyelid, in order to play the role of a young rebellious girl who is a professional hair stylist. Amyra took inspiration from real-life hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani and Hollywood actress Rooney Mara’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo look to perfect her look.
Aamir Khan: Bollywood’s true perfectionist rocked the buzz cut with some wacky styling to play Sanjay Sharma in the 2008 neo-noir psychological thriller, Ghajini. His look was so edgy that fans went ballistic wanting to get a similar hairdo, starting a rather quirky trend of hairstyles that year.
Vicky Kaushal: Vicky Kaushal, who has been basking in the glory of Sanju’s success, has romantic drama coming up: Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan. Vicky’s hairdo in the film is super cool, with the front part of his hair coloured blue, gold, and green to stand out in a crop of black. The Masaan actor looked adorable donning the hairdo.
Yami Gautam: Yami Gautam is the latest actress to join the bandwagon of shortening her tresses for a role. The Kaabil actress, who has never had such a drastic hair change prior to her current semi-long bob, underwent the transformation rather bravely. For someone who had luscious long locks, Yami is rocking the bob for her role in Uri.
