On Rani Mukerji's birthday, Tellychakkar.com presents 10 unknown interesting facts about the actress

Rani Mukerji
The versatile Rani Mukerji celebrates her 36th birthday today. While we are sure that a certain Aditya Chopra must have made some grandiose plans to please and surprise his rumoured lady love, we thought of walking down the memory lane and present 10 unknown interesting facts about Rani. In 1994, Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan approached Rani with the script of ‘Aa Gale Lag Jaa.’ But Rani’s father didn’t want his daughter to start acting at a young age and rejected the offer. After completing Home Science from SNDT College, Rani wanted to take up jewelry and interior designing but couldn’t afford the fee of Rs. 3 lakh. Acting was Rani’s first job after college. She took it seriously because she didn’t want to let her parents down. Acting was considered a taboo in Rani’s family and her father was strictly against it. He finally allowed Rani to act only on the condition that her mom would accompany her everywhere while shooting. Rani’s first screen test was a disaster and she came back crying only to be consoled by her mother. The chutzpah of the glamour world proved to be a bit too much for the young Rani but it was her family’s weak financial condition that made her give it one last shot. Rani studied acting at Roshan Taneja’s acting institute Rani was the first choice for movies like Lagaan, Dil Se and Munnabhai MBBS. She couldn’t do these movies due to date problems. Rani once said in an interview that she will never marry an actor because according to her two megalomaniacs can't exist in the same house. ‘We’ll end up killing each other.’ (It’s a good thing that Aditya Chopra doesn’t like coming in front of the camera) Rani trained in Odissi classical dance for 10 years under Guru Ravindra Athibudhi. Her favourite film is Titanic and favourite song is ‘My heart will go on’ from Titanic. Well, this is our list. Did we miss anything? Feel free to share more facts about Rani or any of your favourite stars at [email protected] and we will share it with the world. And you will also get credited for the same (Yeah! Yeah!).
