Whenever we think of a susheel hero, we invariably imagine him to be named Prem. And why not! After all, he is one of the most loved characters of Bollywood.
Whether it’s Salman Khan’s Prem in his humongous hits or Shahid Kapoor’s Prem in his first bonafide blockbuster, the name and its possessor have always fascinated us.
With Salman reprising his role as Prem in the Diwali release Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, we take a look at the typical traits of the quintessential hero…read on:
Family first:
Prem considers his family above everything, including love and career. He knows that it’s only family that can hold everything together. With his head firmly screwed on his able shoulders, can this hero do any wrong? Nope.
Respects women:
Even though he is marrying the girl, he doesn’t do anything that against her will or without her consent. Their romance is old-school and innocent, making you believe in ideal boys and future husbands. Awww.
Righteous:
Prem makes sure that there is equality and righteousness. Even the household help is treated with kindness and affection. In fact, there’s really no differentiation between the lower and the upper class. Prem sets the right example for a generation of boys. Don’t you think so?
Traditional:
It doesn’t matter if they are armed with foreign education or complicated degrees, their roots are Indian. Their traditional upbringing is in no way a reflection of their regressive thoughts though. They are open, modern and broad-minded, but know the value of their culture and respect it immensely. Which girl wouldn’t fall for a Prem, eh?
