MUMBAI: National, 26th July 2024: PVRINOX Pictures is thrilled to bring the high-octane, internationally acclaimed and dynamic adaptation of the globally celebrated video game BORDERLANDS . Directed by Eli Roth and produced by father-son duo, Avi and Ari Arad along with Erik Feig is all set to hit Indian theatres on 9th August 2024. Borderlands features the star-studded cast of Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Ariana Greenblatt, Edgar Ramirez, Florian Munteanu, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The film centres on Lillith, portrayed by Cate Blanchett, a notorious outlaw who makes a return to her chaotic home planet, Pandora. Tasked with locating the missing daughter of the universe's most influential figure, Atlas, Lillith forms an alliance with an eclectic group of misfits. On their quest together, they navigate a series of formidable challenges which includes crossing paths with an unlikely figure from Lillith’s past, Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis).
When the producers reached out to Jamie Lee Curtis to offer her the part, her response was simple, “ Okay, I’m in. ” Her role in the film not only enriches the character dynamics but also highlights the thematic intricacies of the story. The Academy Award honorary Jamie Lee Curtis remarks, “ It was great fun exploring Tannis ”, she adds, “ You have a group of people who come together to achieve a common goal, which makes for a very satisfying story. There’s an outlaw, a mercenary, a nutty scientist, a broken bodyguard, a street rat of a little girl, and a robot — all of whom need each other. Audiences love that; they relate to that big narrative drive. ”
