MUMBAI: Social media platforms have become an integral part of our life. While some are utilizing it to create awareness and for some other good reasons, others are misusing it.
And of late, the means of wrongful exploitations including money have increased in many industries. Actor Cibi Sathyaraj had come across a casting call poster that included his name and picture. The actor must have felt the shock upon looking at the unprofessional and dishonest poster. Sibi had thought of taking the poster on social media for the purpose of safeguarding the interests of the public. Therefore, he addressed his followers as friends in his tweet. Then, he recalled the moment that alerted him on the picture that was doing rounds on social media.
The Sathya actor confirmed that the poster was fake and he was not aware of it. Further, he branded the poster as a scam and requested the aspirants to not fall prey to it. "Dear friends. It has come to my notice that this picture has been doing the rounds on social media last few days.I wish to clarify that this is a FAKE casting call and I’m totally unaware and in no way connected to this scam.Pls do not fall Prey to this (sic)," he tweeted.

Sibi also attached the poster he was claiming as fake. The picture had the header calling out the females who were aspiring to get into the film industry as actresses. It read, 'Urgent Requirement Females'. Then, the makers of the poster added the characters required for the project. They listed, 'Heroin: 18-28 years, Friends: 20 to 28 years and Supports: 22 to 25 years' Followed by the above listing, the poster requested the readers to send their recent photos with good resolution. They also included the What's App number of the concerned person, Arun Project manager.

The poster also had photos of Sibi Sathyaraj and a female model. While many such fake casting calls have been doing rounds on social media, Sibi Sathyaraj's move to expose one of them deserves appreciation.
On the work front, the actor will be next seen in upcoming Tamil mythological mystery thriller Maayon. The film will mark directorial debut of N Kishore and also stars Tanya Ravichandran in the lead roles.
