A few weeks ago, a fatal accident happened on the sets of Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardar, in which lightman Machinder Arvel aka Bala lost his life. He was electrocuted just a few meters away from where Devgn and Mukul Dev were shooting.
Just after the mishap, Devgn had tweeted: "Nothing can compensate Machinder's loss as my heart goes out to his family. We will do whatever we can to support them."

Just after the mishap, Devgn had tweeted: "Nothing can compensate Machinder's loss as my heart goes out to his family. We will do whatever we can to support them."
Keeping up to what he had tweeted, Devgn rose to the occasion and offered a compensation of Rs 15 lakh to the departed soul’s family. It is however said, that many film folks pooled in their mite for the generous cause.
Vice Chairman of the Allied Mazdoor Union, Prem Singh Thakur, who represented Machinder's wife in the negotiations with the producers of Son Of Sardar, confirming the development said, “Ajay has proved his magnanimity with his kind help to the family of the deceased.”
Thakur confirmed that Machinder's wife and mother received the money.
