After ruling our hearts with her honey coated mesmerizing voice, it's now time for Alka Yagnik's niece to take center stage. Following her legendary mother's footsteps, Garima Yagnik will debut as a playback singer in the film Mumbai Can Dance Saala.
And for Garima, playback singing happened by accident and not by any planned design. It was a usual recording session at music composer Bappi Lahiri's studio where Garima accompanied her mom to. While she was discussing about her ongoing singing training, the producer of the film Ranjeet Sharma & director Sachindra Sharma asked her to sing a few lines for them. As soon as she finished her rendition, her first playback singing offer landed in her lap.
Ask her on how it feels to be launched by a legendary music composer like Bappi Lahiri, an excited Garima says, "I have been undergoing training in classical music since I was 4 from my mom. It feels great to be working with such legendary people. It’s a big break, and I am thankful to Bappi da and Ranjeet uncle for showing confidence in me. I am looking forward to this new phase of my life.”
Looks like the next generation of Yagniks is ready to take over and rule our hearts yet again.
