MUMBAI: The much-anticipated sequel of Allu Arjun's ‘Pushpa: The Rule,’ which was supposed to hit theatres on August 15, has reportedly been delayed. There are rumors that Sukumar, the filmmaker, is still working on the post-production and filming aspects of the project.
Films from the Tamil and Hindi industries are competing for the August 15 timeslot. In response to the most recent reports regarding the postponement, the makers of ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ have not yet released an official statement.

Social media was ablaze on June 12 with speculations that 'Pushpa 2' had been delayed by a few months. According to reports, Sukumar plans to finish the filming by July, although there may still be one month remaining to shoot. Although an official announcement is still pending, it appears that distributors in trade circles have been notified of the decision.
Since 'Pushpa 2' was scheduled to release on August 15, other films in a variety of industries decided to postpone their releases to avoid conflict with the Allu Arjun starrer film.
On June 12, trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on his X (formerly Twitter) account, mentioned that Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' will now arrive in theatres on August 15.

Earlier, 'Khel Khel Mein' was scheduled for a grand release on September 6. Their decision to advance the release date also adds fuel to the rumours about 'Pushpa 2' postponement.

On August 15, John Abraham's 'Vedaa' will also be released, in addition to 'Khel Khel Mein.'

In a similar vein, Pa Ranjith's Chiyaan Vikram film ‘Thangalaan’ might benefit from the current situation. The actor posted a picture of himself from ‘Thangalaan’ along with a caption, "Exciting times!! #Thangalaan (sic)." This suggests that the makers are finalizing the release date.

'Pushpa 2's' trailer and two songs were released by the film's makers as part of their promotional campaign.
‘Pushpa: The Rule,’ directed by Sukumar, and starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is a follow-up to ‘Pushpa: The Rise.’ When it was released in theatres in December 2021, it set the box office on fire. Produced by Fahadh Faasil, the movie has been in development for more than a year.
