MUMBAI: Renowned music composer and singer Amaal Malik, a prominent figure in the Indian entertainment industry and brother of singer Amaal, has voiced serious concerns regarding the treatment of actor Kartik Aaryan within the Hindi move industry.
In a recent candid interview, Mallik made bold claims suggesting that Kartik is being deliberately sidelined, much like the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput once was.
Mallik did not mince his words as he opened up about the power struggles and politics that, according to him, continue to plague the industry. “He’s a self-made actor who’s done his share of hard work, and even he is being targeted. There are people waiting to pull him down. Big producers and actors play power games,” Amaal remarked.
Reflecting on the darker realities of the film world, Mallik said the industry's internal dynamics often take a toll on an individual’s mental health. “This industry does something to your mind and soul… people demoralise others around them.
It’s a place that can break even the strongest. When the truth behind Sushant’s case emerged, public sentiment shifted. The common man realised what really goes on in Bollywood and turned their backs on it. They said, ‘These people are rotten’.”
The singer didn’t hold back when discussing the impact of Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death. “The industry has never been publicly held accountable in this way before. Sushant’s death took everything away from them—their credibility, their standing. And rightly so.
What happened to a good man was wrong. Now, people are trying the same tactics on Kartik Aaryan—subtle, yet damaging. And yet, he smiles through it all, dances through the pain.”
Mallik also acknowledged the shifting public perspective. “The audience sees the truth now. The industry is so dark, it has cost people their lives. Sushant couldn’t cope. Whether people believe it was murder or suicide, the fact remains—he’s gone.”
This isn’t the first time such allegations have surfaced. Rumours of Kartik Aaryan being unfairly targeted by certain influential figures in Bollywood have persisted over time, with fans expressing concern that he may be pushed down the same tragic path as Sushant Singh Rajput.
