Amitabh Bachchan is India's Prime Icon

After chronicling the inspirational lives of the country’s most illustrious names in its quest to give India its true role model, BIG CBS Prime showered praise on the enigmatic superstar Amitabh Bachchan as India’s Prime Icon. The legendary actor was felicitated at the grand finale event of the show by Bollywood beauties Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma, who together conferred the prestigious title on the luminary. In a short thanksgiving note, Bachchan said, “This is indeed a prestigious honour for me but I frankly feel that I was not the deserving candidate. I am humbled.”

I am humbled.” This was followed by the unveiling of writer and film critic Bhawana Somaaya’s Dictionary on Bachchan titled Amitabh Lexicon, a first in the history of Indian cinema. By annexing the award, Bachchan put behind the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, A R Rahman and politicians Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi.
