Amitabh Bachchan should also get Dadasaheb Phalke award - Lata Mangeshkar

While the world is going gaga about Gulzar being bestowed the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke award, legendary vocalist Lata Mangeshkar thinks it's about time for Amitabh Bachchan to also receive one. Lata made this remark while congratulating poet Gulzar who was chosen this year to be conferred with the prestigious award. "I am proud and happy that Gulzar has been honoured with the award. I congratulated him personally and also on National television." Lata then went on to state that it was time for Amitabh Bachchan to receive one. "I want Amitabh Bachchan to also be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke award. It is about time." It's no secret that Lata and Amitabh Bachchan form a mutual admiration club. While Amitabh has been conferred with Dadasaheb Phalke Ratna, he has never been honoured with the Government instituted Dadasaheb Phalke award. May be a change in government can make the difference, perhaps.
