Deborah Ann Woll's tormented reason to do 'Escape Room'

Actress Deborah Ann Woll says Escape Room is not only a gory horror movie, but more about the psychological torment.

And that is what attracted her towards the film.

"I was attracted to the fact that it wasn't a gory horror movie, but more about the psychological torment and the relationship with fear," Ann Woll said in a statement to leading publication.

"I also enjoyed the collaborative element, as the people in these escape rooms are only going to succeed if they work together, even though there are conflicts. And, finally, I liked the relationship between the two women," she added.

Escape Room, to be released in India by Sony Pictures India on 1 February, is about six strangers who travel to a mysterious building to experience the escape room and to win $10,000. It shows how the game turns into a nightmare with the four men and two women finding ways to escape death.

It also stars Logan Miller, Taylor Russell, Tyler Labine, Jay Ellis and Nik Dodani.

Talking about her relationship with women in the film, Ann Woll said, "So often in horror films women are pitted against each other and are objects in a way, but luckily in this case we were far off that track.

"Here the two women in the story help each other and find a support system - which is something I quickly appreciated just by reading the script."

Celine Dion remembers her late husband

Singer Celine Dion says her late husband Rene Angelil is always beside her.

In an interview to leading publication Lorraine, the Power of love hitmaker spoke about Angelil, who passed away three years ago, and how much she misses him every day, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

She said, "Knowing that now he's in peace and is resting and is always within me. I see him every day through the eyes of my children.

"He gave me so much strength. To be honest, I think I'm at the best of my life right now and I want to enjoy and embrace every moment of it and really enjoy it. It's like I'm having a second wind, like I'm having the wind beneath my wings. I'm having a good time."

Dion also cleared the buzz of having "another man" in her life after the demise of Angelil.

"He's a gentleman and we're friends, we're best friends. Yeah, there's another man in my life but not the man in my life. I don't mind because he's handsome and he's my best friend. Yeah there's another man in my life but not the man in my life," she added.

Jada Pinkett Smith almost quit acting

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith almost quit acting to study psychology when she "lost" her "desire" to continue pursuing a career in Hollywood.

"There were no questions in my early years. Maybe later on. I kind of lost my desire to be in this industry for a lot of different reasons, and I was actually thinking about going back to school for psychology," Smith said.

The Girls Trip star ultimately decided to stick to her acting career because she had already come so far, but took a short break in order to wait until she felt "motivated" enough to take on another movie, reports leading publication.

"I was like, you've been doing this a long time, girl. Just sit back. I just had to wait until I was motivated again. I had to wait until something came along and sparked me because I had just lost the desire to be in this game," she said.

This is not the first time Smith has voiced her battles with her career, as on an episode of her show Red Table Talk last year, she had said she had a "complete emotional collapse" after she reached "a certain amount of success".

Bella Thorne 'depressed' by social media

Actress Bella Thorne says social media makes her "depressed" and "uncomfortable", despite spending most nights scrolling through her accounts.

"I'm not gonna lie, Instagram never really makes me feel comfortable. I'm never like, 'Oh, I feel so comfortable that I'm scrolling through Instagram.' If anything, Instagram makes me feel uncomfortable at almost all times. Yeah, it's nice to know what everyone is doing, like literally, what the f**k is everybody doing right now?" Thorne told Gay Times magazine.

She added, "But besides that, when I scroll through my phone on social media at night, it ends up making me really sad. Something about it makes me depressed so, I always end up tossing my phone down and lying on the bed huffing and puffing."

Her comments come after she boasted that she was able to pay for her home with the money she earned from posting promotional content on her Instagram, as she said brands will pay as much as $65,000 for a photograph, reports leading publication.

The Famous In Love star had said, "For (an Instagram) grid posting, it's 65 grand a post. For story posting, it's anywhere from 10 to 20,000, and for Snapchat, it's the same as Insta story.

"Instagram is 100 per cent a job to me. I started out at 18 with literally $200 in my bank account and I bought this house a year later, a year and a half. That's all from social media."

Coming out as bisexual made me lose auditions: Bella Thorne

Hollywood is not ready for bisexual stars, according to actress Bella Thorne.

The Blended star opened up about her gender-fluid love life last year (2018), and now says her big reveal cost her roles, reports leading publication.

"There were a few places on the acting side that were very negative about it... There was someone who, right after I came out, cancelled my audition," she told Gay Times.

She added, "It's not like anybody comes up to you and says, 'Well, you're gay so I'm not going to hire you'. I haven't had that.

"But you can just tell by the way that people act differently around you, the way they treat you differently, the way that they look at you or the way that they tip toe around certain subjects because they are walking on eggshells. In this business, that behaviour makes it all very obvious."

But the unspoken fall-out has not prompted Thorne to dial down her duel romance with Mod Sun and Tana Mongeau.

"I don't think anybody will really understand the bonds that I share with Mod or Tana. We joke around about poly, but we aren't in the sense that we don't put a word, a box or label too many things. It is what it is," she said.
