MUMBAI: Ankita Lokhande, along with Randeep Hooda, unveiled the Marathi trailer of their upcoming film 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' in Pune. While Hooda is seen portraying the revolutionary activist and politician Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Ankita is essaying the role of his wife Yamunabai in the historical drama. Post the trailer launch, the actress received immense love from the attendees for her no-make up look. She had previously spoken about how she credits Randeep's direction for her look as Yamunabai. Post the trailer launch event, Ankita and the team of 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' visited some historically iconic places, including the hostel where Savarkar used to live.
When asked about a quality of Yamunabai that she'd like to adapt, Ankita answered, “The quality that my character Yamunabai had was patience, which I lack. I've tried to imbibe this quality from her. I am trying to inculcate it within me as it is an important quality to have.” The Pavitra Rishta actress mentioned in the same interview that she works as hard and as passionately on her roles today as she did in the beginning of her career. "I feel proud of myself and my journey so far. I have more such milestones to conquer as this journey has just started," Ankita added.
‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ marks directorial debut of Randeep Hooda. It is all set to hit the theatres on March 22.
