Arshad Warsi insults media at trailer launch of Welcome 2 Karachi

Arshad Warsi

Insulting media at press conferences seem to be the new pastime of actors. Losing cool at the drop of a hat over questions which they feel are inconveniencing and insulting media personnel is the new norm of celebs who are too full of themselves.

It was Arshad Warsi who decided to give the media a taste of his acerbic tongue today. At the trailer launch, Arshad who had a bad throat seemed a bit peeved to begin with ..and started off his round of insults by targeting a senior female journalist who asked him how the term wadthef**k used in the film was conceptualized. "We went to the Himalayas and took a couple of hours.....Silly question. Next question," shouted Arshad.

Arshad then chose to poke fun at a young scribe for not getting the pronunciation right of the word film (The journalist pronounced it as flim). "Yeh flim kya hota hai bhai?" ridiculed Arshad. When the journalist replied that it was tongue's mistake and just like Arshad had a problem with his throat, he had a problem with his tongue. Replied Arshad, "Mera toh galla kharab hai, tumhara dimaag kharab hai."

The shocker however unfolded when a query about Irrfan Khan was directed at Jackky Bhagnani. Interjecting Jackky's speech, Arshad said, "I want to clarify something. This appeared in Mumbai Mirror today. I never said Irrfan was a better choice or he should have been in the film. I said Irrfan is a different actor and Jackky makes the film younger. I also never said Lauren (Gottlieb) is not the heroine of the film. Mumbai Mirror (names the journalist who wrote the article) I will rip your ass."

Well, Arshad if you have a problem with a journalist or an article you should have taken the legal route. Uttering profanities in a press conference is quite unbecoming of an actor of your status, we say.
