MUMBAI: Actress Pavleen Gujral who has done note worthy characters in Marzi, Angry Indian Godess and Made in Heaven is currently seen in 'Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare' on Netflix, essaying the character of 'Juhi' which is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava.
Verbalising the challenges on potraying the character she says,"The challenging part about Juhi's role in Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare was that this girl was living a dual life working in an app service centre. Nobody knew the reality of her life and what prompted her to do this. Through her role you can sense the bravery she embodies. Though she was living a dual life, she was unapologetic about it. This role appealed me the most because of the strong and confident qualities she possesses which also reflects who I'm in real life."
On sharing about her working experience, "Sharing space with Bhumi was so momentous as she was so warm and electrifying as a person. We used chat about some punjabi music because I'm from Delhi. She is a fab actor and I felt extremely good and inspired by her work. She is very hardworking and she would always remember all her lines as she says them with such precision that you're drawn towards her. Alankrita Shrivastava is brilliant as a director. She was so comfortable to work with. She bestowed me complete freedom to portray Juhi the way I want it. So we interacted on the look test and I gathered what she wanted from the character. I think we were on the same page."
She further talks about the subject of the film by adding,"I feel the film throws light on an issue that is often ignored in our society. Its about women's desire. I think this movie explores that facet of Indian society very well. It highlights a lot of topics that are needed to be spoken about. Although 'Juhi' was a small role but It has moved people and they will remember it because it has engraved a special place in their heart. And 'Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare' is an important film which appeals to large section of society."
