Big B, Ileana miffed at book launch event

Amitabh Bachchan and Ileana D'Cruz were miffed due to the amateur antics of a rookie Master of Ceremonies at Dr Jaishree Sharad's book - 'Skin Talks' - launch event. In fact, even though Dr Jaishree Sharad kept saying that Big B was her Guru and paid elaborate tributes to him, the MC didn't echo the feeling in practice. Finally Amitabh Bachchan had to tell her that there were others (Neetu Singh Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz, Priya Dutt) on the stage. Inspite of this, the MC actually moved away from Ileana and didn't ask her any questions. When pointed out that she had overlooked Ileana, she attempted to ask a question forcing the actress to ask, "Well, you don't seem to have any question for me originally. So why are you asking some forced questions?" And Ileana refused to answer any. Tamanchey stars Nikhil and Richa Chaddha who were present were not even called on stage. When asked whether he will write a book, Big B said that he doesn’t think he could be an author. "It is a myth and misconception that I can write. Facebook and Twitter are social media platforms and writing there is a different matter. My mother used to say that one poet in the family is sufficient," he said. When asked how he took care of his skin, Big B commented with a wry face, "I wake up in the morning, take a bath, go to work put choona (read 'make up' or 'conning people' if read in another way) and then come back wash it. What else can I do at this age?" Several prominent personalities from the world of films and fashion didn't even get a chance to sit due to lack of seats and poor event management. Nikhil and Richa too were waiting for a long time in the front row to get on to the stage but Dr Jaishree and her team totally ignored them for quite some time. In fact, Manish Paul and Ehsan (Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy fame) were called on stage while Tamanchey stars got a raw deal. A classic case of publicity stunt gone awry.
