Batman's completed a cool platinum jubilee. And in case you thought that Batman is retiring after a long innings of 75 years, you got it wrong. In fact, to commemorate the 75th anniversary, a new short anime called Batman:Strange Days will be beamed. The same will be produced by the legendary Bruce Timm, the creator and producer of Batman:Animated series and Superman:Animated series.
This new short film will focus on Dr. Hugo Strange and his battle with the bat and is styled as a 1930 pulp as it follows Batman to the lair of Hugo Strange. It is also believed that Strange Days will be a significant departure from Timm's previous DC animated works, defying viewers' expectations of both character and creator.
Through this short film, Since Batman firs appeared in 1939, Timm will also pay tribute to the era when Batman first appeared, that is in 1939. Therefore, one will get to see a sepia-toned adventure, and Hugo Strange, paired with his creature and a starlet-type blonde all of which would evoke Universal's monster movies.
This anniversary is also being promoted in comic form, with the newly launched Batman:eternal series.
Well, given that summer vacations have just started, Bruce Timms couldn't have timed his return better.
