MUMBAI: Hombale Films indeed created a stir with the release of Kantara in 2022. The film arrived with a captivating story from the heartlands of India and offered the audience a divine experience like never before. The production house truly delivered a cinematic spectacle of its kind that was unexpected and changed the dynamics of the entertainment world. Well-studded with action, edge-of-the-seat thrills, humor, and an absolutely amazing story, the film emerged as a sleeper hit and went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year. Moreover, Hombale Films secured a magnificent win as Rishab Shetty won the National Award for Best Actor, and Kantara was honored with the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 70th National Film Awards for 2022. It was a major commercial success and emerged as the second highest-grossing Kannada film of all time after K.G.F: Chapter 2, released the same year. It was also 2022's fourth highest-grossing film in India. The film grossed over ₹400 crores worldwide and ₹96 crores in North India. In fact the film holds the highest box office collections for a Hindi film in 7th and 8th week breaking the previous record by 2001 film Gadar showing the love and admirations it got from audiences. The film's seventh week collection was ₹24 crores, which was the highest for an Indian movie at the time.

As Hombale Films celebrates two years of Kantara, they are now gearing up for the prequel, titled Kantara: Chapter 1.
