Saif Ali Khan who allegedly got into a brawl with NRI businessman Iqbal Sharma at Mumbai's Taj Hotel on February 2012, has been charged under Section 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the same case.
The hearing of the matter against Saif will begin from 30 April and the actor will have to be present in the court unless he claims exemption.
The case which has moved at a snail's pace till now pertains to the incident that unfolded at Taj Hotel where Saif was dining with Kareena Kapoor and other friends. Iqbal who was dining with his family reportedly asked Saif to keep the decibel levels low. This apparently enraged the actor. According to Sharma, Saif used abusive language and when the argument furthered, Saif allegedly punched him on his nose. When Iqbal's father-in-law tried to intervene, he was allegedly punched as well.
Saif was arrested for the same and immediately bailed out.
With serious charges being framed against Saif, the actor may have to see some tough times ahead.
