MUMBAI: Deepika Padukone has her hands full with 5 new projects. Here are all the upcoming films of the diva that will keep her busy this year
After the release of the controversial Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone took a break from the big screen. The diva tied the knot with Ranveer Singh during this break but didn't announce any new project. Taking her fans by a surprise, Deepika announced her first production venture, Chappak that released in January 2020. Since then, Deepika has gone on to announce 5 new films that have only left her fans intrigued. From The Intern to an untitled project with Prabhas, the diva has her hands full.
We've listed down all the films that Deepika has in her kitty that will keep her busy for the next two years. Take a look:
Fighter
On the occasion of Hrithik Roshan's birthday earlier this month, Deepika announced her 'dream come true' project. She will be teaming up with the actor for the first time in her career. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film will release on September 30, 2022. Sharing the announcement on social media, Deepika had written, "Dreams really do come true..."
Prabhas 21
Back in 2020, it was announced that Deepika will be teaming up with superstar Prabhas for his next film. Directed by Mahanati fame Nag Ashwin, the film will be marking Deepika's Tollywood debut. The production house released a video with "Throughout the years, we have had the privilege to work with some extraordinary women. Now, with pride, we welcome Deepika Padukone on to our 50 year journey. Bringing together India's biggest Superstars" written on it.
Deepika Padukone's Mahabharat
Deepika went on to announce one of her most ambitious films which will tell Draupadi's version of Mahabharat. The film will be co-produced by Madhu Mantena. In an earlier interaction, Deepika had revealed that this film will release during Diwali 2021 but the project might be delayed due to the pandemic and lockdown.
Shakun Batra's untitled film
It was announced that Deepika will be teaming up with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday for an unconventional love story. The title or details of the film haven't been announced but the team began shooting in Goa followed by Alibaug.
The Intern
Deepika announced a couple of months ago that she will be remaking Anne Hathaway and Robert DeNiro's The Intern along with Rishi Kapoor. The Internet blew up with the cast and have eagerly been waiting for details. But post the untimely demise of Rishi, Deepika is yet to make an announcement on this film.

While these films have been announced and are either under-production or shot, Deepika's next release will be Kabir Khan's 83. The film, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead was slated to release in March 2020 but has been pushed due to the pandemic. A new release date is yet to be announced. While Ranveer essays the role of Kapil Dev, Deepika will be seen as his wife, Romi Bhatia.
