MUMBAI: In the loving memory of wife Sridevi, Boney Kapoor arranged for a special screening of Mr. India for the children at Balwatika Shelter Home on Christmas. The film producer, who's known to be a doting family man has been inconsolable since the demise of the legend; and this festive initiative was his way of celebrating one of the best films of her career.
Cherishing the icon's body of work and in her remembrance, Kapoor hosted a special show of the superhit movie for 180 kids on Christmas. In harmony with the spirit of giving, the screening was accompanied by lunch for the little ones at the shelter home along with clothes' distribution.
The screened film, Mr. India is a shining gem of the actress's filmography. In an era that had women in cinema playing docile roles, Sridevi came along as a pleasant change of air in the character of a bold journalist. The actress is also well deservedly credited with making the songs Hawa Hawai and Kate Nahi Katte chartbusters that went down in the history of Bollywood music.
