Yet another cine couple has called it quits, even though their separation has been in the works for a while now. Malayalam-Hindi director Priyadarshan and his former actress wife Lissy have filed for divorce by mutual consent. Lissy had filed for divorce in December 2014.
The two were having issues over their properties (one residential and one non-residential). While Lissy apparently wanted a share in both, Priyadarshan, it's said, wasn’t ready to pay heed to that. In fact, according to reports, Lissy had filed a criminal case against the director under the Domestic Violence Act in 2015.
He, in turn, had also filed a case against her. With all those cases pending in court, a divorce by mutual consent didn’t look feasible. But the two, for the sake of their children, have decided to amicably separate, says a report.
The report further states that Priyadarshan agreed to divorce by mutual consent if Lissy took back her cases against him.
Priyadarshan, who rose to fame in Bollywood with Hera Pheri, Hungama, Hulchul and so on, married Lissy in 1990. They have a son and a daughter together.
