Tellychakkar got in touch with the actress where she talked about her first pay cheque, her fan moment with R D Burman and much more.
Tell us about how you felt when you saw yourself for the first time on a big hoarding.
Just 5 minutes away from this office that we’re sitting right now, there was a big banner of ‘Geet Gaata Chal’. Day before yesterday, I was talking about it with Suraj. Even during childhood, the film banners had small pictures, but this was a very big banner and with such good lightings.
How was it the first time when you felt like you are a star?
When I start getting a lot of movies, I feel that way. I cannot talk about the audience as I have worked since I was a kid. I have good relation with them. So I cannot say that they have started to recognize me. If you are working since childhood, then you become a part of their families. Everyone watches you grow and everyone knows you. So when you start getting a lot of movies, you feel like you’ve become a star.
Tell us about the time when you received your first pay check.
I don’t really remember that.
Tell us about the time when you had your fan moment?
My fan moment was with R D Burman because I love music. In my whole life, I have only taken one person’s autograph and that’s R D Burman's. I was out with my friends. I was in a car with them and suddenly another car came right next to us and I saw it’s R D Burman. I immediately started searching for a pen and paper and ran outside without even wearing my footwear. I went to him and I felt so good about the fact that he didn’t even know me, because I could be myself without having any distraction.
How was your reaction to the first time when you saw your performance?
This is very hard to remember because I’ve been doing this since I was a kid. I used to do dubbing and that’s something I’ve been doing since my first project so there was no charm in watching yourself.
