Filmmaker Ravi Chopra passes away
Ravi Chopra, the man behind the original Mahabharata passed away at Breach Candy hospital today. The filmmaker was reportedly battling a severe lung ailment which is believed to have been the reason behind his death. The 68 year old veteran filmmaker was hospitalised last week on Thursday and was believed to have been making significant progress. Unfortunately, he breathed his last at around 3 pm this afternoon. The family members of the Chopra family couldn't be immediately contacted. Ravi Chopra had been keeping unwell for a long time now and was hospitalised for lung related illness earlier as well. Ravi is known for having directed films Zameer (1975), The Burning Train (1980), Mazdoor (1983), Dahleez (1986), Baghban (2003) and Baabul (2006). Son of the famous B.R. Chopra, Ravi has produced movies like started producing Bhoothnath and Bhoothnath Returns. His most cherished work till date remains the mega television series, Mahabharat. RIP Ravi Chopra. You will be missed.
