However, the police claim that suspects Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta detained in connection with the case have received the pistols from a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Only Pal fired his pistol outside the actor's Galaxy Apartments, even though both were intended to fire, according to an official.
The Mumbai Police will request custody of gangster Bishnoi, who is in custody in Tihar Jail, after collecting evidence in the case, the official said.
The accused allegedly threw both guns into the Tapi after the firing incident. The accused carried one gun with them to their village in Bihar, where they underwent firing training. The other gun was kept in their rented flat in Panvel. The weapons were handed over to them in Panvel approximately 20 to 25 days before the firing incident.
The gang gave the accused Rs1 lakh. A mediator allegedly paid a total of Rs1 lakh to each of the accused, which includes buying a used bike for Rs24,000, covering the rent and deposit on a residence, and setting up the accused's escape. The individuals who turned over the cash and weapons are still unknown.
About the matter, eight to ten people have provided statements to the police. The FIR may include further sections. Pal and Gupta are still under the Crime Branch's jurisdiction as of April 25.
