MUMBAI: Ace actress Neelam Kothari has been part of myriad films. The talented lady has mesmerized the film buffs with her acting prowess.
The Bollywood actress recently opened up about wearing conservative outfits when she was actively working in the film industry, something her stylists have found bothersome. Neelam, who was a popular star of the 1980s and 1990s, made a comeback of sorts with Karan Johar's Netflix show 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives'. She also openly underwent an anti-ageing procedure on the show.
During a recent interview with Filmfare, Neelam said how times have changed, including in the costume department of films. The actress said that it was very different back in the day and the actors just had to look good. Adding that there was no concept for a particular look for a film and the attention given to film stars and their 'looks', Neelam said that if she were to play a village girl i.e. a gaon ki ladki, then there was a certain look but otherwise she had to just show up looking nice and pretty.
Neelam said that her aunt used to do her styling and all her necklines in most of her movies were up till the top of her neck. She said all her dresses were long and very conservative, adding that now she's a stylist's nightmare.
The actress revealed that her stylists tell her to open up the neckline a little bit and she goes 'no no no no'. Neelam further stated that she is still extremely conservative and knows what kind of costume will look good on her.
Meanwhile, as Neelam gears up for Season 2 of 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives', she is also seriously considering her acting comeback.
