MUMBAI : Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anek, which was supposed to hit the theatres on March 31, has been postponed. The film directed by Anubhav Sinha will now release on May 13. Ayushmann, who had said that Anek will "usher in a different language of cinema", announced its new release date on social media.

Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will now hit theatres on May 20. The decision was made after RRR sealed March 25 as its final release date. Now, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anek has also been postponed.
Announcing May 13 as Anek’s new release date, Ayushmann Khurrana shared a striking poster and wrote, “It takes just ONE to make a difference. Time to unite as Ek! Jeetega Kaun? Hindustan! #Anek IN CINEMAS 13.05.2022 (sic).”
Ayushmann Khurrana will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in Anubhav Sinha’s Anek. The film was earlier supposed to release on September 17, 2021. However, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, it got postponed. Ayushmann plays the role of Joshua in the socio-political thriller which is set in Northeast India.
This is the actor's second collaboration with Anubhav. Earlier, the actor-director duo worked together in the 2019 film Article 15. Anek is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Anubhav Sinha under Benaras Media Works and T-Series.
