MUMBAI: Rapper Naezy is still making waves in the entertainment industry. He rose to fame as Bigg Boss OTT 3's first runner-up, competing alongside Sana Makbul and Ranvir Shorey. The role portrayed by Ranveer Singh in the popular film "Gully Boy," which was based on the lives of Indian street rappers Divine and Naezy, was inspired by Naezy, whose real name is Naved Shaikh.
Naezy was seen interacting with fans and the media on the streets of Mumbai after his successful time on Bigg Boss OTT. Naezy enthusiastically replied to a question regarding the potential for a "Gully Boy" sequel, asking viewers to contact Bollywood producers and directors: "Haa tum log appeal karo Bollywood ke makers directors ko ki Naezy ke bare mai movie banana."
Speaking of his stressful work schedules and upcoming projects, Naezy said, “I don’t take much stress with work. I work hard and am always focused on what I’m doing. So if any producers or directors want to make a film, they can contact me.” Adding, “Kuch dhamaka, tayar raho public.”
Naezy's journey from Mumbai's slums to becoming a well-known rapper is similar to the story of "Gully Boy." Naezy has stated in the past that "Gully Boy" did not accurately depict his genuine narrative, with several scenes being staged for dramatic effect, even with the movie's commercial success. With Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in key parts, the 2019 film "Gully Boy" explored the hardships and victories of Mumbai's underground rap scene. Under the auspices of Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Films, Zoya Akhtar directed and Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Ritesh Sidhwani produced the movie.
