Hansal Mehta criticizes officials for not letting his daughter apply for an Aadhaar Card in Mumbai

Mehta shared his daughter's experience, and referred to the event as "harassment". Mehta said on his X handle on Wednesday morning that his daughter had been unsuccessfully attempting to obtain an Aadhaar card for the past three weeks.

MUMBAI: Bollywood director Hansal Mehta slammed government officials on Wednesday morning, saying that despite numerous visits, they were not assisting his daughter in registering for an Aadhaar Card. Mehta shared his daughter's experience, and referred to the event as "harassment".

Mehta said on his X handle on Wednesday morning that his daughter had been unsuccessfully attempting to obtain an Aadhaar card for the past three weeks.

"My daughter has been trying to apply for an Aadhaar card since past 3 weeks. She makes the long trek to the Aadhaar office in Andheri East braving rains, going early enough and the senior manager there keeps sending her back on some pretext or the other. Get this signed, get this document, the stamp is not in the correct place, you don't have an appointment today, I am on leave for a week..." he wrote.

Criticising the officers' work, he continued, "This is most frustrating and nothing short of harassment." Following the spread of his tweet, many other internet users also recounted their own comparable experiences in the thread, and some even gave him support and guidance.

Regarding work, Mehta's film The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, is scheduled to open in theatres on September 13 of this year. Bebo is going to be seen in the movie as Jass Bhamra, a detective.
