Hansal Mehta's Shahid gets Censor Board rebuff

Shahid
Anurag Kashyap’s Shahid that is soon to hit the silver screen, has come under the scanner of the Censor Board (CBFC). The film censoring authority has asked the film’s director Hansal Mehta to change a dialogue in his much-talked about forthcoming film. The members of the CBFC felt that the dialogue "Apne aap ko kya jihadiyon ka Gandhi samajhta hain? (Do you consider yourself the Gandhi of jehadis?) might hurt people's sentiments. Accordingly, the makers have removed the word Gandhi and replaced it with Masiha, according to a statement. The trailer of the movie is running successfully online as it doesn't come under censorship but it will only appear on television channels after the required changes are made. Releasing on 18 October, Shahid is based on the true story of slain human rights activist and lawyer Shahid Azmi who was killed by unidentified assailants in his office in 2010.
