Yesterday, as Bollywood's one of the favourites and talented choreographer Geeta Kapoor (also lovingly known as 'Geeta Maa') turned a year older, film director Farah Khan took to her Instagram to wish Geeta on the same. Read for deets...

MUMBAI: Geeta Kapur, who is currently seen as one of the judges on the show Super Dancer - Chapter 4, turns 48 today (July 5). On the occasion, Farah Khan, her mentor, took to Instagram to wish her on her birthday. 

Geeta Kapur began her career under the guidance of Farah Khan. Later, she also worked as an assistant with Farah on films like Dil Toh Pagal Hai and Kuch Kuch Hota Hain.

Geeta Kapur lost her mother, Rani Kapoor, in January this year. 

In her note, Farah mentioned that she can't take her mother's place but she is good at being 'the second best'. The filmmaker and choreographer posted a throwback video of Super Dancer along with her note. "A rare love...Happy birthday to my “first child” @geeta_kapurofficial blessed to have this girl in my life.. I think the video says it all.. lov uuu my baby.. I know this is your first birthday without ur mom, rani aunty.. i can Never take her place but just letting you know im a pretty good second best (sic).", read Farah's note.

Geeta Kapur's mother died on January 12 this year. She informed her fans about the heartbreaking news a month later due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.

Geeta Kapur returned as a judge on the dance reality show, Super Dancer - Chapter 4 with Shilpa Shetty and Anurag Basu. She is fondly referred to as 'Geeta Maa' by her students. She started her career as a background dancer. 

She later assisted Farah in films like Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Mohabbatein and Kal Ho Na Ho. She has also choreographed for films like Fiza, Asoka, Saathiya, Heyy Babyy and Tees Maar Khan, among others. 

However, she rose to fame after appearing as a judge on the show Dance India Dance.
