MUMBAI : The Bollywood actor Alok Nath renowned for portraying the sweet and sanskari fathers on the screen, has already been the subject of grave accusations. Throughout the 2018–19 #MeToo movement, he was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women.
Among them was writer and producer Vinta Nanda, who said she had been abused by Nath for almost two decades. To the already disturbing claims, two more actors, Navneet Nishan and Sandhya Mridul, also accused him of harassment. Another member of the "Hum Saath Saath Hain" film team questioned Nath's behavior. Actress Himani Shivpuri has now raised additional concerns about Nath.

She talked about her personal experiences working with Siddharth Kannan in a podcast discussion with him. Himani Shivpuri collaborated with Nath on several films in the 1990s and 2000s, drawing attention to a significant change in his behavior after drinking alcohol.
After drinking alcohol, Alok Nath would change significantly, according to the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress. Himani revealed, "I have done a lot of work with him in the past and the thing with him is that when he is not drinking, then he is sanskari. His personality was like that of Jekyll and Hyde."
During the same interview, Himani shared another troubling experience. She claimed that Nath was obviously drunk and unruly at an awards ceremony, and his wife had to constantly tell him to keep his composure.
"Apart from one incident in the National School of Drama (NSD), I have never faced any problem with him. But I would hear from people that he was a different person after a few drinks. In fact, I had once witnessed it. He was drunk and out of control while we were travelling for an award show, and his wife kept asking him to be calm. Even I asked him to get a grip on himself or else he would be deplaned. He was deplaned once in the past because of his behaviour."
The actress went on to say that Alok Nath would have been very quiet and professional on set. However, the veteran actor would change into someone else the moment it's 8 pm.
