MUMBAI : Siddhant Chaturvedi has been making heads turn ever since he made his debut with the 2019 super hit film ‘Gully Boy’. The actor started his acting career with ‘Inside Edge’ and has been on a roll ever since.
Abhishek Banarjee in a recent interview opened up about meeting Siddhant and shared, “I can't properly recollect how I met him but in our office when we had newly started casting that time he had come and he had met us and we would talk. Also, one thing that really surprised me is generally when people are from Mumbai their grip on Hindi is not that good but Siddhant had a very good grip on the language and the fact that he would read and write poetries, that's how we started talking.”
Abhishek recalled casting Siddhant and shared, “For starters we gave Siddhant the coca cola ad and then ‘Inside Edge’ happened where was a dalit boy who was an introvert and would usually be scared. The character of MC Sher that he did in Gully Boy was very different but one thing which is common is that the range that Siddhant had was visible from the beginning. He can be in a coca cola ad and be a chocolate boy from Uttar Pradesh, guy who is an introvert in inside edge or even MC sher in Gully Boy.”
He further added, “I am sure that for his future projects to he would do a variety of interesting characters. Every casting director has an Instinct which says that ok this actor is going to work and the same thing happen with Siddhant too. We were very happy we could give him his first break and look at him now he has made us proud and I'm sure he has made a lot of other people proud by his work.”
On the work front, Siddhant has a host of films lined up starting with Bunty Aur Babli 2 followed by Shakun Batra’s untitled next and the recently announced film ‘Phone Bhoot’.
