Vikram has often aced in roles that are different and grey in nature. From playing a mentally ill patient, autistic afflicted man, multiple personality disorder patient, Vikram has done it all. In his forthcoming movie, I, the actor will be seen essaying four different roles, one which sees him as a man-beast.
The actor personally too loves playing such roles as he feels they creatively satisfy him a lot more. Says Vikram, "I grew up doing plays on stage. In school, I was more on stage rather than in classrooms. I always wanted to do something that is different even when I was acting on stage. For instance, if someone gave me the role of Julius Caesar, I used to say, 'Give me Cassius or Brutus because it's a different role with grey shades."
The same interest has remained in Vikram even when he started acting in films. "In movies too, I want to do something that is out-of-the box and do something that is not me as far as possible. I think that way in 'I', I got to play four roles which are way different from each other."
Talking about his role in I, Vikram says, "I really felt powerful in that role and I was brimming with confidence when I played it. To build a body that I sport in the film took me three years while the make-up took three hours."
I directed by Shankar and co starring Vikram and Amy Jackson will release in 2015.
