I loved psychology in college - Prachi Desai

On the occasion of Independence Day, we saw the vivacious Prachi Desai doing her bit by lending her smile and support to underprivileged kids at an even organized by the Smile Foundation. She was smiling well throughout the event until we asked her about Ekta Kapoor’s Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Dobaara. The only response we got was the usual ‘No Comments.’ We hope all is well between Ekta and Prachi (we all know Prachi was a part of Once Upon A Time in Mumbai but does not feature in the sequel). When asked about her association with Smile, she said, “It’s a wonderful initiative by Smile foundation and one can’t find enough words to describe the noble work done by them by helping these kids complete their education. It’s just like giving wings to someone.” So how does a celebrity’s association help such a cause? “(Pauses) Well, I think kids don’t generally listen to their parents especially when it comes to studies. But I am sure if it is a movie star or someone they see on TV, they readily and eagerly listen. So that’s where I come in and seeing the way the kids have reacted positively here, I feel I have done by my little bit for them. After all, it’s only education that can make you complete.” Back in college, what were your favourite subjects? “(Smiles) Well, I was not really good at my studies, I will admit but I guess my favourite was psychology. I was quite good at it.” We wish her a prosperous life ahead!!!
