The bold and beautiful Bong actress Swastika Mukherjee says that her role in Pratim D. Gupta’s film Saheb Bibi Golaam is the boldest and audience have not seen such a character in Bengali cinema before.
The film which is a thriller will see the talented actress in a seductive avatar. It revolves around the lives of a contract killer (Anjan Dutt), a housewife (Swastika) and a taxi driver (Ritwick Chakraborty).
On her role, Swastika opined, “Bibi is outspoken and bold. The audiences have not seen such a bold character in a Bengali cinema before.”
“The film has the story of a woman who gives importance to her own personal desires which I think is important,” she added.
When quizzed if she felt awkward to do the bold scenes, she said with a witty smile, “No, I was not at all awkward. I think those who acted with me were tensed and uncomfortable.”
The Bhooter Bhabishyat, Jaatishwar and Take One famed actress said that she likes to experiment with her roles and makeup.
She quipped, “I try not to repeat my roles in films. Not just characters, I try to experiment with my attires, hairstyles and make-up also.”
Talking about the role she wishes to portray on screen, she expressed, “I want to essay a full on negative role, where my character will be beating up and murdering people. I haven't tried such a role yet.”
“Many think that with such a face we cannot play negative roles and that perception needs to be changed. So, I want to break that perception and try something different,” she added.
