Longlegs portrays Maika Monroe as a passionate FBI agent Lee Harker who is determined to solve an intense mystery. As the audience becomes increasingly anxious to uncover Longlegs' true nature, even Maika Monroe remains in the dark about his features until her character meets Cage's for the first time on screen.
Sharing her experience of seeing Nicholas Cage’s character for the first time Monroe stated “ On horror sets, so many people ask if it’s scary or is it spooky. And it really isn’t! You see all the gags. You see the fake blood, but for the first time I was really able to experience this genuine feeling of being very uncomfortable, nervous, scared and fearful of opening that door, of what I was going to see. Oz didn’t let me see any photos or anything. I knew [Cage] was sitting in the hair and makeup chair for several hours, but I had no idea! It was a pretty surreal experience that I will definitely never forget. ” To which Director Osgood Perkins also added “ There was anticipation. There were nerves. There was love. There was fear. There was sadness. There was excitement. Everything. ”
