Salman Khan today recorded his statement in court in the infamous hit-and-run case. The actor in his defence statement said that he was not drunk and neither was he behind wheels on that fateful night. Salman said in his statement that it was his driver Ashok Singh who was driving the car.
" I was not driving, my driver was. I had to get out of the car from the driver's side because my left door was jammed, so I could not open it," said Salman.
Salman also recorded that he had asked his driver to inform the police about the incident. "I instructed my driver to inform the police. I remained on the spot for 15 minutes or more."
Refuting the theory that he was drunk that night, Salman said, "Drinks, including cocktails, were served at the Rain Bar. I was drinking water. Bills made out for drinks and food were not mine."
Elaborating further on his seating position in the car, Salman told the court, "I did sit on the driver's seat as Altaf (driver) left and another driver Ashok was coming. When Ashok came. I moved to the left side."
Salman also indicated that there was discrepancy involved in his blood test reports. "My blood was taken at two places. Blood samples were not intact. The outcome is false. My pupils were dilated because I was awake all night."
