After a 16 year hiatus, director J P Dutta has firmed on making a sequel of his 1997 hit war film Border with Sunny Deol (his second film in the series).
"We are happy to announce that Sunny Deol will be part of star cast. Other names are in the deliberation stage. However, for now Sunny has been roped in for a pivotal role, since he was an integral part of Border," a statement from Dutta read.
Border was an adaptation from real life events that happened at the Battle of Longewala fought in Rajasthan (Western Theatre) during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and Bangladesh Liberation War.
Though Sunny essayed the role of a Sikh commanding officer in Border, he would not play a Sikh in the sequel but would again be seen in a commanding officer's role. The film will also be an adaptation from real life events, the statement added.
Other details are being temporarily kept under wraps. The film will go on floors by the end of October (2013).
