MUMBAI : Imran Khan gained notoriety with his breakthrough movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, which hasn't been seen on screen in a very long time. He last appeared alongside Kangana Ranaut in Katti Batti. Yet the love drama failed out, and the actor hasn't appeared in a movie since. Well, Imran Khan recently discussed this in an interview with the popular news portal. He clarified, as reported by the popular news portal, that there is a whole ecosystem surrounding actors in the film industry, including management, PR, and publicity. In this setting, everyone's attention is always on the money, the amount of money made from movies, endorsements, appearances, and even small-scale events like ribbon-cutting ceremonies. According to him, this financial viewpoint eventually takes priority as the main indicator of success. He understood that his passion for movies wasn't motivated by money, even if he was a member of this environment.

When asked if the failure of Katti Batti triggered his step down, the actor said, “Yes. At that moment I didn’t consider it in that way and I never said, ‘Okay, on this day, I’m done, I quit.’ It was kind of a process of a week becoming a month, a month becoming three and becoming a year, and a year becoming two where I said, ‘Okay, I won’t do this because my heart’s not in it.’

Everyone adored Imran's performance in the highly regarded Hindi black comedy Delhi Belly. He co-starred with Ali Zafar and Katrina Kaif in the film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan that same year. At the box office, the film was a big success. Ali Abbas Zafar wrote the script and directed the film.

Imran stated that he was reading scripts last year. Imran Khan was quoted by the popular news portal, “I don’t have a clear answer, but I am reading scripts and having creative conversations with filmmakers. So, hopefully, next year.”

It was recently reported that Imran Khan has rented an apartment from director Karan Johar with his alleged lover, Lekha Washington.
