Jameela has always represented different cultures passionately likewise, during the making of Mira, Jameela had a phenomenal experience learning and portraying the South Asian culture. She strongly believes that India has a magnificent culture and the world needs to know about it. She says, “The reason I wanted to be a part of this series is because I grew up with nothing really like this. I think it’s really important to live by the motto if you can’t see it, you can’t be it. It really hindered me as a child not having that representation and now to be a part of this moment with Disney, we are going to show so many kids the beauty and the magic of India. It is still a place that’s so underrepresented and really special. It makes me excited to have kids one day because I can show them this content and I hope it will be the beginning of more programming taking notice of this wonderful culture that people should be exposed to and the beautiful illustration. It shows India in such a magical light, the music is so fantastic and the dancing is incredible. It’s just one of the most beautiful series I’ve ever seen.”
